Our Wines
La Bourgogne Farm is one of the oldest fruit farms in the Valley, producing export quality plums and pears. Semillon is a cultivar that used to be synonymous with Franschhoek, and we have 25 year old vines on the farm from which our Progeny is produced by DP Burger.
In addition to the 1.5ha of Semillon, we have planted another 3 hectares to Shiraz, Malbec, Chardonnay, and Viognier, with our first harvests expected in 2011. Given the anticipated increased production of wine, we have applied for planning approval to build a small tasting room alongside our cottages.
Sales: Progeny wines are available from La Bourgogne farm, La Cotte Inn, as well as from a number of Franschhoek restaurants and various Cape Town outlets.
Tastings: Come and join us on the farm for a lovely wine tasting in the gardens.

Olives and Olive Oil
When Georges Mayer bought the farm, it was his aim to make olive oil, notwithstanding the lack of olive trees on the farm. Today the farm has approximately 2500 olive trees, which were planted in May 2008, bar about 220 which went in May 2005, and which are providing their 3rd pressings in May 2010. The majority of the trees planted is Frantoio, with liberal sprinklings of Corantino, Lecchino, and Mission.
The oil produced to date has been of excellent quality, and we plan that our oils will be marketed nationally as soon as quantities permit. From 2011 our oils will be pressed on the farm, and we expect that our attention to detail will enhance our product.
Our 2011 harvest has won us a Silver award with the South African Olive assosiation.
